OP&DSD ORGANIZATIONAL POLICY
OP&DSD develops and maintains organizational charters for the OSD Principal Staff Assistants; Presidentially appointed, Senate confirmed officials; the Defense Agencies; the DoD Field Activities; and other assigned DoD activities according to the policies and procedures detailed in DoD Instruction 5025.01 "DoD Directives Program". Chartering DoD Directives define the scope of functional responsibilities and identify all delegated authorities for a specified organization or position. They comprise a unique DoD Directive format and are exempt from the eight-page limit for DoD Directives. However, they do conform to the DoD Instruction 5025.01 review and currency policies which require a review every five years.
