Conduct strategic planning, analysis, and performance management across the Department to support the National Defense Strategy (NDS) and Strategic Management Plan (SMP).

What We Do:

  • We work with the OSD Principal Staff Assistants (PSAs), Military Departments (MILDEPs), and other DoD Components to develop the Strategic Management Plan (SMP), which includes the Annual Performance Plan (APP) and Annual Performance Report (APR) in accordance with the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) Modernization Act of 2010 (GPRAMA).
  • We assess the Senior Executive Service (SES)/Senior Professional (SP) performance management to ensure individual performance is aligned with organizational performance. We also support the Strategic Management and Performance Improvement Committee and Department's Performance Improvement Council.
